Paris Olympics 2024 Live, Vinesh Phogat’s Verdict Live Updates: The suspense on Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)’s decision on wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal continues. Regarding the matter, United World Wrestling president Nenad Lalovic said, “I am so sorry for what happened, but no matter the size of your country, athletes are athletes. This weigh-in was public, everyone saw what happened. How can we allow someone to compete when we all saw what happened. We don’t have any other choice but to follow our rules.” Vinesh had filed to appeals after her disqualification from the Women’s 50kg event. Vinesh had appealed to be awarded a joint-silver, with the CAS accepting the appeeal. However, CAS said that the verdict would come by Saturday, 9:30PM IST. (Medals Tally)
